Well friends, it's been a loooooooong time since I've posted here and much has changed! I am now at a NEW school and teaching fourth grade for the first time ever! It has been an amazing adventure so far!
I just can't wait for schools to reopen so I can see my colleagues and scholars in person! :-)
Teaching virtually has its challenges for sure, but I am learning an whole new skill set which I can use for the rest of my teaching career!
My co-teacher is out for a few days this month because she is taking a class. A friend of mine is subbing for her. Last Friday was her first day with us.
My scholars immediately noticed a Baby Yoda behind her. That's all they wanted to talk about. Seeing their excitement, I told my class that if they worked super hard and put in their best effort, then when the sub comes back, they could have a Baby Yoda Lunch Bunch! They almost flipped out upon hearing that!
Needless to say, the scholars were incredibly motivated by this. I told them several things.
1. You did not have to be part of the lunch bunch if you didn't want to.
2. It's okay if you don't have any Baby Yoda items.
3. If you want to draw Baby Yoda or print out a picture beforehand, that is fine, but you don't have to.
Today was the big day! Time for Baby Yoda Lunch Bunch! I dressed for the occasion!
We decided we were going to draw Baby Yoda today. I found this fantastic step by step video on YouTube. I paused when necessary so we could all catch up.
Here are the end results:
After taking individual pictures, I took a big group shot with all things Baby Yoda!
This was a fun lunch bunch and I look forward to doing it again sometime soon! :-)
